This album was recorded at the same sessions that produce "Camus' Last Ride" but far from being the cast-offs of his previous release, the original plan was for the whole to be release as part of a double set. After a fortnight or more of listening to the tracks in a hundred different combinations, Fats finally came back with a revised plan.
"This lot go together," he said, "but not these." He handed me two halves of a gas bill that he'd scrawled the two sets down on, with a variety of hieroglyphs, crossings out and re-writing to indicate the running orders.
So one became two.
