If you are born of the right stock, in the right families, of the right background, the American Dream is as real as you can imagine. That accounts for less than 1% of the entire country. For the rest, regardless of colour or creed, it is an endless nightmare, plagued by poverty, by debt, by the ceaseless need to work longer and harder for less and less reward, all the while being told that if we just buy that one more thing that we can't afford then our lives will be so much better...

Some of the voices used can be easily recognized. Some of their dreams will be widely known But while JFK dreamt of going to the moon, others were dreaming of whites-only neighbourhoods and as Martin dreamt of all men being equal, others were longing for more and more money to hoard for themselves.

And as America wrapped itself in the splendor of everything that could and should be bought and taught its kids to ask for more and more and more, as it cheered the pledge not to postpone any further being the first to land on the moon, the country hadn't even figured out just how many poor their were.

The American Dream has seeped into the worldwide unconscious. And countries still judge themselves on the mark set by their wealthiest. Maybe one day, we'll all start dreaming of Martin's equality, or at least start thinking about measuring ourselves by our poverty than by our wealth.

We make no apology for the sounds we have used. They are all just floating out their in the atmosphere, waiting for someone's ear to get in the way.
